TRAVEL | LAST HOURS. LA CARTUJA

El último día, antes de coger el AVE de vuelta a casa estuvimos en el antiguo Monasterio de La Cartuja que ahora es  el Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo. El edificio es precioso y una cosa que me llamó la atención en este viaje a Sevilla, que no había visto antes, fue que los museos situados en antiguos edificios, las iglesias, ahora vacías y sin decoración, se utilizan como sala de exposiciones. El espacio tan grande y alto impresiona mucho al entrar, sobretodo cuando no te lo esperas eso, sino una sala como otra cualquiera. El museo me encantó, por el edificio y por las exposiciones, eso sí, esta una zona un poco solitaria. En la Isla de La Cartuja, cruzando el río y rodeado de lo que queda de la expo del 92. Estuvimos dando un paseo por los alrededores y fue bastante desolador, no se si porque era fin de semana o si realmente no suele haber nadie por allí. Acabamos el día subiendo a la terraza del Hotel EME, en la plaza de la Catedral. Habíamos visto la terraza desde la Giralda y tenía muy buena pinta así que subimos para despedirnos de los atardeceres de Sevilla con un vino y unas vistas preciosas.

The last day, before getting the train back home we were in the ancient Monastery of La Cartuja which is now a museum of contemporary art. The building is beautiful and one thing that got my attention on this trip to Sevilla, that I had not seen before, was that the  museums in old buildings, have the old churches, now empty and undecorated, used as an exhibition hall. The space so big and high impressed me much, especially when I do not expect that, but a room like any other. I loved the museu, the building and the exhibitions, though, is placed in a deserted  area. On the island of La Cartuja, across the river and surrounded by the remains of the 92' Expo. We were walking around there and was pretty devestating, maybe was only for the weekend or maybe is actually empty. We ended the day going up to the Hotel EME rooftop lounge, in Cathedral Square. We had seen the terrace from the Giralda and looked nice so we went there our last hours to say goodbye to Sevilla's sunsets with a glass of wine and beautiful views.
