TITICACA TRAIN | PERU TRAVEL GUIDE

Nuestra última excursión en Perú fue al Lago Titicaca, fuimos desde Cuzco a pasar el fin de semana y volvimos para coger nuestro vuelo a España. El trayecto fue inolvidable. El Lago Titicaca, el más alto del mundo, está a unas 10 horas en tren de Cuzco, a pesar de queestá lejos no nos lo queríamos perder. Como ibamos pasar todo el día viajando quisimos convertimos el viaje en una experiencia única con Perurail. Fuimos en su Tren Titicaca, una auténtica preciosidad. Entrar en el tren te teletransportaba a una película de época. Eran dos vagones de pasajeros y otro vagón bar/terraza, todo con acabados de madera, con sillones tapizados y mesitas, con un bar abierto al final, donde podías salir a pasear y a disfrutar del increíble paisaje. Ese fue el sitio que más me gustó, nunca había estado en un tren al aire libre, sintiendo el viento y respirando el aire puro mientras disfrutaba de un paisaje super poco explotado y precioso.

Our last trip in Peru was to Lake Titicaca, we went from Cuzco to spend the weekend there and after we went back to take our flight to Spain. The journey was unforgettable. Lake Titicaca, the highest in the world, is about 10 hours by train from Cuzco, although it is far away we did not want to miss it. As we were going to spend the whole day traveling we wanted to make the trip a unique experience, and so we didi with Perurail. We went on his Titicaca Train, an authentic beauty. Entering the train teleported you to an old movie. There were two passenger cars and another bar / terrace car, all made of wood, with armchairs and tables and an open bar at the end, where you could go for a walk and enjoy the incredible scenery. That was what I liked the most, I had never been on an open-air train, feeling the wind and breathing the fresh air while enjoying a beautiful unexploited  landscape.

El tren es increíble, nunca había visto uno igual, al menos en funcionamiento y fuera de un museo. Hacen varios espectáculos curradisimos durante el viaje con bailes regionales de cada zona por la que pasa el tren. Te ofrecen desayuno y el billete incluye menú completo de comida y hora del te servido con vajilla y con todos los detalles posibles, además de varios tentempiés, pisco etc. Es super cómodo no te aburres ni un segundo. Todo el tren es precioso, es muy lujoso y con mucho encanto tanto fuera como dentro, y tengo que decir que hasta el baño era una pasada! era muy espacioso, de acabados de madera, como si fuera de un hotel. Es una experiencia inolvidable y muy recomendable si viajáis de Cuzco al lago Titicaca, no podéis dejar de vivirlo porque no lo olvidareis, es un tren muy especial.

The train is incredible, I had never seen one like this before, at least outside a museum. They do several wonderful shows during the trip with regional dances from each area through which the train passes by. They offer you a big breakfast and the ticket includes a full menu for lunch and also the tea time served with crockery and with all the possible details, in addition to several snacks, pisco etc. It's super comfortable and you do not get bored for a second. The whole train is beautiful, very luxurious and very charming, both outside and inside, and I have to say that even the toilet was amazing! It was very spacious, made of wood finishes as the rest of the train, as a hotel toilet. It is an unforgettable experience and highly recommended. If you travel from Cuzco to Lake Titicaca, you can not miss it because you will not forget it, it is a very special train.
