MIS LOOKS

Fuimos cuatro días completos y llevaba cuatro looks en la maleta y otro para el viaje. 

No facturamos y sólo llevaba una maleta de mano y un bolso tipo shopper. Ultimamente con el método Marie Kondo  me cabe de todo en la matea de mano y soy feliz. Llevo los looks pensados de casa y sólo viajo con lo necesario (lo necesario para ir mona todo el rato claro). Llevaba dos abrigos (uno puesto y uno en la maleta), dos pares de zapatos (uno puesto y uno en la maleta) y dos pantalones (idem) y con eso iba combinando con tops distintos. En el vuelo llevaba el bolso de Acosta, que usaba a diario porque tiene el tamaño perfecto y asa corta y asa larga,  dentro del bolso tipo shopper que es más cómodo para el avión y caben más cosas. ¡Ah! importante, debajo de todos los looks mallas y camiseta térmica, que hay que ir mona pero sin pasarlo mal. Os dejo aquí los cuatro looks.

MY LOOKS

We went four full days and I wore four looks in the suitcase and another for the trip. 

We didn't check in so I only had a handbag and a shopper bag. Lately, with the Marie Kondo method, I can fit everything in the cabin suitcase and I'm so happy. I take the looks thought from home and I only travel with what is necessary (what is necessary to look cute all the time of course). I was wearing two coats (one on and one in the suitcase), two pairs of shoes (one on and one in the suitcase) and two pants (idem) that I was combining with different tops. In the flight I carried  the Acosta's bag, which I used every day because it is the perfect size and short and long handle mode, inside the shopper bag that is more comfortable for the plane and I can fit more things inside. Oh! important, under all my looks I wore thermal tights and thermal t-shirt, you have to go cute but warm. I show you here the four looks.

LUCES & ESCAPARATES

Lo que me encantó de esta visita a Londres fue el mood navideño que tienen: todo está lleno de luces, de música, de decoración y actividades navideñas y las tiendas despliegan su imaginación. Pensé que después de haber ido en mayo por primera vez, ir en invierno seria una mala época porque hace mucho frío y las horas de luz son pocas y lo compararía todo el rato con el viaje anterior. Sin embargo, como tienen ese espíritu navideño tan potente las horas de noche son igual de bonitas, eso sí, el frío que he pasado en Londres hacía tiempo que no lo pasaba. Menos mal que fui bien abrigada.

LIGHTS & SHOPS

What I loved about this visit to London was the Christmas mood everywhere.

Everything is full of lights, music, Christmas decoration and activities and the shops display their imagination. I thought that after having gone in May for the first time, going in winter would be a bad time because it's very cold and the hours of light are shorter and I would compare it all the time with the previous trip. However, since they have such a powerful Christmas spirit, the hours at night are just as beautiful, but I had not feel that cold for a long time. Thanks I was well wrapped up.

Las luces de Oxford St

El calendario de adviento de la fachada de Fortnum&Manson y los escaparates.

El interior de una tienda en Covent Garden que parecía una instalación de una galería y me llamó mucho la atención.

Las luces de Carnaby me parecieron las más mas bonitas, no tenían motivo navideño y por eso me gustaron más. Eran de perlas, delfines, conchas, corales...simulaban el océano y el objetivo era concienciar de cuidar el planeta. Me parecieron preciosas.

PISTAS DE HIELO

Tenía muchas ganas de patinar en una de las pistas de hielo que hay por la ciudad, creo que hay tres, pero no estoy segura. Son preciosas, vimos dos: la de Somerset House y la del Natural History Museum, pero había que reservar con antelación, se compran las entradas por internet o en taquilla pero para el día siguiente si hay suerte y al final no pudimos patinar porque no nos dio tiempo...

ICE RINKS

I really wanted to skate on one of the ice rinks in the city, I think there are three, but I'm not sure. They are beautiful, we saw two: the Somerset House and the Natural History Museum,  but you had to book your tickets in advance. You can buy them online or at the box office but for the next day if you are lucky, and in the end we could not skate because we did not had time ...

WINTER WONDERLAND 

Es una feria que montan en Hyde Park por navidad: atracciones, tómbolas, puestos de comida y de decoración navideña dentro de un recinto enorme. Todo ambientado en la navidad. Me gustó mucho porque es un espectáculo, nunca había visto algo así y tuvimos suerte porque no había mucha gente. Aunque esperamos cola para entrar porque había varios controles de seguridad el interior estaba bastante vacío. Lo único malo es que se puso el sol y todo estaba precioso, pero fue la tarde que más frío pasé y no conseguí librarme de él por más infusiones y hot chocolate que me tomaba...

WINTER WONDERLAND 

It's a fair in Hyde Park for Christmas: attractions, raffles, food stalls and Christmas decorations within a huge enclosure. Everything is set in Christmas theme. I really liked it because it's a spectacle, I've never seen anything like this before and we were lucky because there weren't many people. Although we waited in line to enter because there were several security controls the interior was quite empty, something not usual. The only bad thing is that the sun went down and (everything was beautiful) it was the coldest afternoon and I couldn't get rid of it despite I drank all the chocolate and infusions...

There are some places we already knew and we loved so we went back again, but we found out other  ones super cool that you have to try:

Muriel's Kitchen. South Kensington. (18€/per aprox.)

Fuimos dos veces y ya lo conocíamos, creo que es de nuestros sitios de brunch favoritos de la ciudad. Nos lo descubrió la hermana de Miki y desde ese día hemos ido varias veces. Tienen desayunos muy ricos y variados y el sitio es muy agradable, aunque suele estar muy lleno, me gustaría que estuviese un poco más vacío la verdad, es un poco agobiante a veces. Está en una zona demás muy céntrica. Es un buen sitio para desayunar.

Muriel's Kitchen. South Kensington. (18€/per aprox.)

We went twice and we already knew it, I think it is one of our favorite places for brunch in town. Miki's sister discovered it once and since that day we've gone several times. They have  a very good  and varied breakfasts and the place is so nice, although it is usually crowded, I would like it to be a little more empty actually, is a little overwhelming sometimes but it is also located in a very central area.

Banana Tree. Soho. (15-18€/per aprox.)

Cenamos en este restaurante de comida asiatica que nos encantó. Pedimos los BananaTree Spiced Noodles y el The Legendary Beef Rendang y estaba increíble. Además la zona del Soho me encanta para cenar.

Mercato Mayfair. 

Es una antigua iglesia que han habilitado con mesas en el centro y restaurantes alrededor en planta baja, primera y sótano. No comimos allí, fuimos a tomar algo y entrar en calor, no sé que tal es la comida pero merece la pena pasarse para ver el sitio porque es precioso.

Mercato Mayfair. 

It's an old church that have fitted out with tables in the center and restaurants around on the ground floor, first floor and basement. We didn't eat there, we went to have a drink and get warm, I don't know what the food is like but it's worth stopping by to see the place because it's beautiful.

Burger&Lobster. Soho (40€/per aprox.)

Íbamos buscando un brunch con unos amigos pero todos estaban llenos y se nos hizo tarde a si que ya comimos. Tenia muchas ganas de probar la hamburguesa con langosta, me atraía mucho la idea. El restaurante esta muy bien y la hamburguesa muy rica, me encantaron las patatas fritas con trufa que pedimos de side, pero no nos pudimos terminar todo! es bastante cantidad. La única pega es que es bastante caro pero me mereció la pena probarlo porque es algo que aquí no hay.

Abeno. Holborn. (20€/per aprox.)

En este sitio también repetimos y también es un descubrimiento de la hermana de Miki. Es un restaurante japonés buenísimo y muy auténtico donde no te hacen la típica comida japonesa a la que estamos acostumbrados. La gracia es que te cocinan en la mesa y pues ver cómo van haciendo, con mucha delicadeza y pulcritud, cada plato. La especialidad son los okonomiyaki, una especie de tortillas que están super ricas. La única pega para mi, que como en cualquier showcooking se te queda el olor en la ropa, pero la experiencia es brutal y es sorprendentemente asequible.

We went here for the second time, it is also a discovery of Miki's sister. It is a very good Japanese restaurant and very authentic where you do not eat the typical Japanese food we are used to. The funny thing is that they cook in the table so you can see how they cook, with a lot of delicacy and neatness, each dish. The specialty is okonomiyaki, a kind of tortilla that is so good. The only catch for me is that, like in any showcooking, you keep the food smell in your clothes, but the experience is awesome and is surprisingly affordable.

Dozo Sushi. South Kensington. (20€/per aprox.)

Este japonés también nos lo descubrieron unos amigos y nos gustó mucho. Además una de mis amigas que había vivido en Tokyo durante un año nos contó que era comida buena y muy auténtica. Cenamos variedad de cosas, estaba todo muy rico y para cenar es un sitio muy agradable y no fue caro.

Dozo Sushi. South Kensington. (20€/per aprox.)

This Japanese was also discovered by some friends and we really liked it . One of my friends who had lived in Tokyo for a year told us that it was so good and very authentic food. We ate a variety of things, everything was very good, it is a very nice place and it was not expensive.

Uno de los sitios que tenia muchas ganas de conocer y me decepcionó enormemente fue este:

One of the places I really wanted to visit and I was very disappointed was this one:

Aquashard. The Shard

La vez anterior habíamos ido a desayunar al Sky Garden y nos encantó, tiene unas vistas increíbles y fue muy bonita la experiencia. Esta vez quisimos probar en The Shard, uno de los edificios icónocos de la ciudad y uno de mis favoritos. Hay vario restaurantes y probamos el desayuno de Aquashard. Error. Las vistas no eran tan bonitas porque entre otras cosas no se ve el Shard, pero a parte de eso el desayuno fue excesivamente caro y excesivamente malo. Pedimos tostadas con mantequilla y mermelada y nos trajeron tostadas de pan bimbo, un mini trocito de mantequilla y un poco de mermelada para seis personas, la presentación era horrible y los zumos eran de brick y les echaban un sirope horrible, nada era natural ni de calidad, sólo el café estaba muy rico, y para que veas el orden de precios el café eran unos 6€...desayunamos fatal. Eso sí, el sitio era bonito, aunque demasiado pretencioso para mi gusto.

Aquashard. The Shard

Last time we had breakfast at the Sky Garden and we loved it, it has incredible views and the experience was very nice. This time we wanted to try The Shard, one of the iconic buildings of the city and one of my favorites. There are several restaurants and we tried the Aquashard breakfast. A terrible mistake. The views were not so nice because among other things you do not see the Shard, but apart from that, breakfast was excessively expensive and excessively bad. We ordered toast with butter and jam and they brought us a bread toast like the ones you find in the supermarket in a plastic bag, a mini piece of butter and a little jam for six people, the presentation was horrible and the juices were from a bottle and mixed a horrible and unhealthy syrup, nothing was natural or fresh and quality was the worst, only the coffee was very good, but a cup of coffee was about 6€ so imagine the rest...  Sadly we had a breakfast to forget. Yes, the place was nice, but way too pretentious for my taste.

· St Katharine docks:

Parece mentira que hayamos pasado por el Tower bridge tantas veces y no hayamos visitado esta zona porque esta justo detrás. Son unos canales con restaurantes muy agradables.

Estuvimos en uno que se llamaba The Dickens Inn tomando una cerveza y es un sitio super agradable y muy típico inglés. Es una zona un poco escondida y que no se suele conocer. 

Es un parque dentro de las ruinas de una antigua iglesia preciosa. Es un sitio muy especial y merece la pena verlo si se pasa cerca. Estaba nublado, pero por lo visto los días de sol los rayos pasan a través de las ventanas y es espectacular.

- Saint Dunstan in the East Church Garden

It's a park inside the ruins of a beautiful old church. It is a very special place and it is worth seeing if you pass close by. That day was cloudy, but apparently on sunny days the sunbeams pass through the windows and it is spectacular.

· Un paseo en barco al Battersea Park.

La zona de la Battersea está en obras y no merece mucho la pena ir pero el paseo en barco es precioso. Es como un autobús que tiene hasta cafetería dentro y vas recorriendo el Thamesis. La vista es muy bonita. Nosotros queríamos visitar la zona de la Battersea porque nuestro último proyecto en la carrera era una propuesta de rehabilitación de éste edificio y nos hacía mucha ilusión, pero e una zona a día de hoy bastante inhóspita.

· Primrose Hill

Las vistas de la ciudad al atardecer desde lo alto de esta colina son preciosas. Está por la zona de Camden Town y es un sitio super romántico y especial. 

En el río, cerca del Tower Bridge también encontramos este restaurante con burbujas en la terraza que me pareció super original!
